My first paid Marketing position as Media Relations Assistant at my alma mater.
Media Relations Assistant - February 2020 to May 2022 (2 Years 4 Months)
My position in the Marketing and Communications department at Eckerd College started with some busy work like posting events on the official Eckerd College website, managing social media statistics, and creating the weekly online newsletters. However, I quickly earned my way into projects like designing and executing Eckerd College's earth week campaign and series of events from start to finish twice (2021 & 2022), creating new web pages on the official site, writing many articles and press releases, and designing infographics/social posts for the official Eckerd College social media.
This job pushed me to begin developing skills in formulating original ideas and executing them successfully (Not to mention adapting existing plans to fit crisis situations like hurricanes and COVID 19!). It also gave me more invaluable experience working both individually and with many different people and teams. I got comfortable managing and creating content for large social platforms as well as working with the public to create multimedia content.
